Job Placement & Training Program - Steps:

Step 1: Know your employment interest. Research the vocational schools that correspond to your employment interest (i.e. if you are interested in becoming an auto mechanic then look auto-mechanics vocational school). Research the requirements to complete the program in your desired field.

Step 2: Schedule an appointment with the Education Department's JPT manager, Marty Cassadore, to discuss your plans. Download the JPT application at www.scat-education.com under the tab 'Job Placement' in the 'forms' section or pick up the form at the education office. Review the application requirements.

Step 3: Submit ALL required documents before your class start date (at a minimum a month before class start date). All documents can be submitted in-person to the education office or email at jobplacementtraining@scat-nsn.gov.

•Part of the process is to have your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) already completed as part of submission of all required documents (remember this requires at least 2 weeks for full FAFSA process).

•The enrollment application from the vocational school of choice is also needed as part of the document submittal

Step 4: Review of JPT application (and documents) by Education program staff

Step 5: When an application decision is made, a letter will be sent to confirm applicant's status (approval, not qualified, incomplete).

Step 6: If approved, applicant will be notified to come into the office for orientation and to sign agreement forms.

Step 7: Attend school and comply with all requirements of the JPT program and requirements of the vocational school.

Step 8: Complete vocational school and start your new career.
